Green Ombre Shamrock Nail Art

St Patrick's Day is fast approaching, and this year it falls on a Saturday! Are any of you planning big festivities to celebrate?

I got the party started early with a green ombre manicure and a little shamrock too!

The ombre effect is really easy to create.  Grab a paper plate, and pour some clear polish onto it.  Add 4-5 drops of your desired color (in this case, green).  Using the color brush, mix together.  Put a coat of the polish mixture on your nails.  It will be very light in color.  

Then, move about 1/3 of the way up your nail and put another coat on.  Repeat a 3rd time, moving 2/3 of the way up your nail.

Let the polish set for a few minutes and then polish with a clear top coat.

I used the full strength green polish and a toothpick to create the shamrock on my ring finger.  If you decide to do this, do it before you put on your clear top coat.

Mini rainbows to start your morning!

I know, we are way past St Patrick's Day but sometimes a girl just needs some sunshine and rainbows.  I keep seeing this idea all over the internet, so I decided to try it.

I made a batch of pancake batter, divided it out, and colored it.

Plop my mini pancakes in the pan.

Viola! Mini rainbow pancakes! They really made my morning.  Especially with a side of bacon and coffee.  Go ahead, have a little rainbow to start your day.  Its OK to have rainbows any time of day, lunch time rainbows, dinner time rainbows, whenever.  It will make all the difference.

Oh Lucky Day!

Mark this one on the calendar kids! I actually got a holiday post up before the holiday. Nevermind that its the day before! Actually the reason I was able to pull this off is because David and I have to make our own holidays. Our work schedules don't usually jive well so we often have to "reschedule" holidays. This is the St Patrick's Day table I did for us. Hope it gives you some last minute inspiration!

We enjoyed a pork and cabbage dinner, Irish soda bread, and of course goodies from this table. On the left side of the table is an assortment of printable photo props and some other fun St Patrick's Day gear to take goofy photos together.

Shamrockin!

St Patty's Day is just around the corner, and it wouldn't be complete without a few shamrock cookies!
I made these cookies to go in the goodie bags for kids participating in the Minneapolis St Patrick's Day Association's Wee Leprechaun Contest! Kids dress up in their best Irish gear and compete to win a Wii.
Luckily, all the Wee Leprechauns got to have their sugary shamrock!
